CNC Programmer
Lucas Industries is a precision manufacturer with over 50 years of experience in the Military & Aerospace Industries. We are currently seeking a CNC Programmer. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) :
- Develop NC/CNC programs for 3 and 4 axis machines using Surfcam or Mastercam software.
- Create Manufacturing Process Sheets (Machining Instructions) to accompany Programs.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D CAD models to create accurate and efficient machining instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
- Preform simulations and verifications of programs to ensure accuracy and prevent machine collisions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to optimize machining processes.
- Revise programs to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain program documentation and ensure revision control.
- Support shop floor operations during the setup and initial runs of programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any programming-related issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Computer Numerical Controlled Programming
- Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Surfcam or Mastercam software
- Ability to read blueprints, understand Engineering models and interpret into Program code
- Experience with ISO9001 & AS9100 quality management system requirements helpful
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of machinable materials, machine tool cutter materials and basic mechanical engineering preferred
- Machining experience helpful but not required
