Facilities ListOver the years Lucas Industries has made substantial investments in traditional manufacturing equipment such as 3 and 5 axis machine tools. These ongoing capital improvements have more recently been focused on contemporary technology systems that yield benefits in shop floor productivity, customer communications, and product quality. Engineering design systems such as CATIA® and Surfcam© have been integrated closely with Romer® co-ordinate measuring machines to establish highly accurate and controllable manufacturing processes. Specialized equipment and technology has also been greatly expanded over the past decade to bring advanced composite materials expertise on line at Lucas. Capacities have been extended far beyond basic high temperature and room temperature molds to include resin transfer molding, compression molding, autoclave molding and thermoforming techniques, all with the express goal of supporting our customers' requirements. This network is backed by a main server system allowing rapid and accurate transferal of information within the facility. Everything from our CMM equipment to our CNC machines are networked together, eliminating the need for physical transferal of information. Lucas has installed Microsoft Project Management software for Gantt Chart reporting enabling us to effectively monitor job progression and track job completion. To round out the company business capabilities, Lucas Industries utilizes Visual Enterprise by info for it work order control. This system ties customer orders, purchasing, shopfloor control, quality, and finance into an imtegrated package.
